Jay Powell
Owner & Founder of IndieGameBusiness®With a wealth of game industry experience spanning over two decades, Jay is recognized as a seasoned business expert renowned for formulating impactful licenses and strategic partnerships. He has spent the last decade building The Powell Group from a solo operation to the robust firm it is today with team members and clients on every continent.
As the visionary driving The Powell Group, Jay established IndieGameBusiness® on the Twitch platform in 2018. This initiative, now a thriving and dynamic platform, serves to affordably educate game developers about the intricate nuances of business operations. Anchored by an active Discord community, a newsletter boasting a substantial subscriber base of over 16,000 readers, a series of weekly podcasts delivered across diverse platforms and the game industry’s longest running digital business conferences, IndieGameBusiness® serves as a tangible testament to Jay’s unwavering commitment and the fervent industry demand for informed perspectives.

Jennifer Cooper
Chief Corporate Development OfficerJoining the industry in 2003 as an Office Manager, Jennifer is a veteran of multiple game companies including Playdom—a division of Disney Interactive Media and fiveonenine games. As the CCDO for The Powell Group, she oversees all lead generation activities including research, analyzing collected data and identifies targets to prospect. She crafts and executes outreach campaigns to make introductions and secure meetings with decision makers. Jennifer also manages the business development database and is the CEOs right hand. Her focus is to create lasting partnerships and is committed to helping clients succeed.

Heather Chandler
Production & Development ExpertHeather is a video game producer with 25 years and counting under her belt in the game industry. She’s led teams at Arrowhead Game Studios, Epic Games, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and Activision. She’s launched over 40 games across all gaming platforms and has worked on popular franchises including Helldivers 2, Fortnite, Star Trek, and Ghost Recon. Outside of game production, she mentors students and supports STEM education. She’s written several books and articles on game development and speaks at industry events.

Dan Long
IndieGameBusiness® HostDan Long, AKA “INDIE” has been a fixture in streaming since 2013. He was partnered by Twitch in 2014 and has since joined The Powell Group as the host of “Indie Game Business”. Outside of his stream, Dan has also helped companies such as Netease, Tencent, and AMD with influencer marketing to streamers on Twitch and Youtube, and PR campaigns for games such as Arena of Valor, Immortal Conquest, and Fringe Wars. Dan has been a vital asset to campaigns that have helped game companies break through the saturated market and lead them to success.

Danelle
Lead ScoutThough she joined in 2022, Danelle has been in the industry since 2014 and a gamer since birth. She has been seen relentlessly helping indie games and the community overall through a variety of events and more.

Ash Cason
Marketing & Community Strategy LeadWith a background as a former partner with industry giants like Mixer, Discord, Nitrado, and Streamloots, Ash leverages her expertise in building safe and inclusive communities. Her fascination with gaming dates back to her toddler years. This early spark ignited a lifelong passion for gaming and technology, fueling her dedication to creating vibrant and welcoming communities for gamers of all backgrounds.

Margarita Pino
Publishing Store CoordinatorInvolved in the industry as a producer, project manager, and scout, Margarita has experience reviewing pitches from very different environments, such as government funds and investment opportunities. She is an active member of the game development community in Latin America and works for the growth of the sector through multiple organizations, with special focus in the inclusion of women in games.

Eline Muijres
Lead ProducerEline is an experienced freelance producer with over 12 years in the industry, bringing a rare dual perspective from both the indie and publisher sides of game production. With a proven track record across a wide range of genres and platforms, she leads teams through complex projects with clarity, compassion, and momentum. As a Board Member of the Games [4Diversity] Foundation, she champions greater inclusion and representation in the games industry.

Amy Nehlsen
Operations ManagerAmy is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in project, team, and organizational management. Over the course of her career, she has demonstrated exceptional skill in coordinating complex events and securing stakeholder buy-in. Her ability to align project objectives with organizational goals and effectively communicate with stakeholders has consistently resulted in successful outcomes.

Evaluation ConsultantJoining the group as an evaluation consultant in 2023, Oliver’s industry experience includes years of professionally writing about games, interviewing game creators, and developing games of his own, all while spending a lifetime playing games and following the industry in all its forms.

Raven Law
Publishing ManagerRaven is the hype man for all the previously published games in the Humble catalog. Playing the 4D chess game of business, sales, marketing & publishing, she makes sure games continue to reach new players and create new legacies past launch. With a background in retro games, Raven loves sharing the weird, innovative, and special stories games have to offer.

Lead ProducerEsmeralda likes to connect the dots and most importantly people. She has worked on various Indie and AAA titles across all major platforms in both development and publishing environments. She’s always keen to help developers find their way in the industry.
Gabrielle Nguyen
Release ManagerWith a background in both production and release management, Gabrielle brings a tireless positivity, creative care, and keen eye for detail to any project she works on. A lifelong love for both playing and making games drives her endless efforts to support teams throughout the production pipeline. When she’s not trying to hit a full combo or save a fantasy world, Gabrielle can be found studying languages and spending time with her birds.

Amira Ballouz
Business Development AssociateWith two years of experience as a 3D Environment Artist, Amira is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Game and Creative Strategy at ISART Digital in Nice. Passionate about the indie game ecosystem, she is particularly interested in how strategic consultancy can empower small studios. Amira has always gravitated toward playing indie titles that are driven by the passion of their creators.

Kwan Yin Gil Delgado
Business DevelopmentKwan Yin Gil Delgado is a visual artist and process designer with 15+ years of experience connecting innovation and social transformation. They’ve advised government and civic organizations in Brazil, Colombia, and Nicaragua on entrepreneurship, technology, and investment, while creating applied games and educational programs with cultural impact.
As Vice President of ACJOGOS-RJ, they foster the growth of the independent game sector through business development and global partnerships. A Twice-Exceptional (2e) individual, Kwan Yin brings a systems-thinking mindset, deep curiosity, and a strong commitment to inclusion and sustainability in the creative economy.

Robert Lazar
QA ManagerRobert is a QA veteran with 15 years of experience in the game industry, and has led QA teams at Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Blue Byte, TLM Partners, and Endava Games. He started his career at Ubisoft Bucharest during the PS3 and Xbox 360 era, and since then he’s tested more than 20 games on various gaming platforms. Robert has worked on franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Call Of Duty, FarCry, Watch Docs, Call Of Duty, Just Dance, Tom Clancy’s The Division.

Mark Robinson
Jr. Community ManagerJoining the industry in 2016, Mark has worked in a number of roles including player support, community management and brand marketing, before taking the plunge to establish his now award-winning indie studio in 2023. He aims to bring his experiences in both community management and studio management to help others as they begin or continue to grow on their journey in the ever-changing landscape of the industry.
